Lagos to Ibadan Bus Price: How Much Is the Pacesetter Fare?
A useful Lagos to Ibadan bus price needs a named service and a boarding point. Pacesetter has published a fare for the route, but it should be reconfirmed before you travel because it is an operator announcement rather than a live checkout quote.
Published Lagos to Ibadan Bus Fare
Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services advertised ₦6,500 for its Lagos–Ibadan service in a post dated 14 July 2026. The post was checked on 11 September 2026. It does not establish the amount payable for a particular September departure.
| Service | Published Fare | Evidence Date | What to Confirm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pacesetter Lagos–Ibadan | ₦6,500 | Published 14 July 2026; checked 11 September 2026 | Current ticket price, selected Lagos terminal and departure |
Use ₦6,500 as a published reference, not a promise that every bus park or operator charges that amount. No comparable live, dated ticket quote was confirmed in the other route searches used for this guide.
Ojota or Ikeja: Confirm Where Your Bus Leaves
Pacesetter’s announcement mentions Ojota bus terminal opposite Oregun Road and Ikeja BRT terminal along Simbiat Abiola Way. These are different Lagos boarding references. Confirm which serves your preferred departure instead of combining them into one address.
The Ibadan location is given as Idi-Ope Bus Stop, Engr. Seyi Makinde Terminal, TCTC Yard, in the Eleyele area. Tell the operator and anyone collecting you the terminal name, not just “Ibadan”.
Your first and last local journeys can materially affect the total cost. A low intercity fare may be less convenient if it requires a long trip across Lagos or leaves you far from your final Ibadan address. Compare the terminal pair before deciding which ticket represents better value.
For other boarding locations you are considering, use the TripNira terminal directory and confirm the current departure point with the company. A general bus park name does not identify a particular operator’s loading position.
Published Departure Times and How to Buy a Ticket
The same Pacesetter announcement lists departures at 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, with 5:00 pm added for Friday to Sunday. It directs Lagos–Ibadan passengers to buy at the designated terminal rather than book online, and advises arriving 30 minutes to an hour before the preferred departure.
These are advertised times, not a live seat inventory. Confirm the direction, boarding terminal and availability for the departure you want. Do not assume that a general timetable proves the same departure runs from both Lagos locations.
At the counter, ask for the total fare before payment and keep the issued ticket. Make sure the destination and departure match your plan. If the service is full, ask about the next confirmed departure before changing your onward arrangements.
An empty result on a booking platform does not mean that buses have stopped running between Lagos and Ibadan. Some services sell through terminals, and online inventory covers only what that platform offers. The published Pacesetter buying method is particularly relevant here.
Luggage Can Change the Total
Pacesetter’s route notice gives a free allowance of 12 kg per passenger and says excess luggage attracts a fee. It does not give a charge per extra kilogram. Confirm the current allowance and extra charge if your bags exceed it.
Avoid treating a free weight allowance as automatic acceptance of any item. Tell the terminal about unusually large or awkward luggage before turning up with it. Keep personal essentials with you and make sure each bag is identifiable when it is loaded.
If another company offers a different fare, compare what each quote includes. A higher ticket price with adequate luggage space can work out differently from a lower fare followed by an excess charge. There is no verified universal luggage allowance for all Lagos–Ibadan buses in this guide.
Allow for the Whole Trip to Ibadan
An approximate city-to-city road reference is 133 km. That does not measure your journey from home to the bus terminal, waiting time, every passenger stop or your final transfer in Ibadan. A confirmed bus arrival time was not available from the fare announcement.
For an appointment, ask the operator for its expected arrival window and leave room for delays. Choosing the latest departure that might work on an ideal run is a weak plan for something you cannot miss.
A same-day return also needs a separate timetable check. The advertised route fare is bidirectional, but that does not guarantee a seat home at the time you finish. If the return matters, settle it before you commit to the outward trip.
Work Out a Realistic Budget
At the published reference, two one-way tickets would total ₦13,000 before local transport and any excess luggage. The same arithmetic for one adult travelling out and back is also ₦13,000, only if the ₦6,500 price still applies to both journeys.
Add transport to the chosen Lagos terminal and from Eleyele to your destination. Keep the cost of your return separate until its fare is confirmed. No current student, child or group discount was verified, so do not reduce the budget on that assumption.
If you are comparing a longer journey towards Kwara, the Lagos to Ilorin fare guide uses different operator evidence. An Ibadan price cannot be extended to Ilorin simply because the journey begins in the same city.
Lagos–Ibadan Passenger Questions
How Much Is Pacesetter From Lagos to Ibadan?
The published fare found was ₦6,500, announced on 14 July 2026 and checked on 11 September. Confirm the current amount with Pacesetter before travelling to the terminal.
Can I Book This Pacesetter Route Online?
The checked announcement says Lagos–Ibadan ticketing is handled at the terminal. Confirm whether that arrangement has changed before attempting an online payment.
Does Every Departure Leave From Ojota?
That was not confirmed. The announcement also names Ikeja BRT terminal. Ask which location serves the departure you want and use that exact terminal for your travel plan.
Is Luggage Included in the Fare?
The operator advertised 12 kg free per passenger, with a charge for excess luggage. The excess rate was not stated, so ask for it before payment if necessary.
Is ₦6,500 the Cheapest Lagos to Ibadan Fare?
This guide cannot establish that. It is a traceable published fare from one operator, not an exhaustive comparison of every commercial bus and motor park.
Choose your boarding point, confirm the current fare and then plan the local journeys at both ends. How TripNira checks bus fares explains the difference between a published reference and a dated booking result.
Operator policies, prices, and travel details can change. Confirm the conditions that apply to your own journey.
